CORTLAND (WIFR) -- An armed home invasion in DeKalb County sends one person to the hospital and another to jail.
It happened in Cortland, just east of DeKalb at 10:17 a.m. Tuesday morning on 67 East Daisy Avenue, when 24 year-old Robert Jackson of Bolingbrook allegedly broke into the home.
Police say, the residents were home at the time and at 16-year old young man was was injured in a fight with Jackson. He was taken to an area hospital for minor injuries.
When officers arrived to the scene they saw Jackson run into a corn field and that is when Cortland Police Officers and other local law enforcement surround him.
Officers took Jackson into custody just after 11:00 a.m. and he is being held pending a bond hearing. Jackson is being charged with two counts of Home Invasion and two counts of Armed Violence, including an felony charge of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.
Police are looking for two other possible suspects that were seen leaving the scene of the Home Invasion . Officers describe them as two black men and driving an older blue four-door Buick with Illinois Firefighter license plates .
The crime is still under investigation.
