One Person Injured in Armed Home Invasion

CORTLAND (WIFR) -- An armed home invasion in DeKalb County sends one person to the hospital and another to jail.

It happened in Cortland, just east of DeKalb at 10:17 a.m. Tuesday morning on 67 East Daisy Avenue, when 24 year-old Robert Jackson of Bolingbrook allegedly broke into the home.

Police say, the residents were home at the time and at 16-year old young man was was injured in a fight with Jackson. He was taken to an area hospital for minor injuries.

When officers arrived to the scene they saw Jackson run into a corn field and that is when Cortland Police Officers and other local law enforcement surround him.

Officers took Jackson into custody just after 11:00 a.m. and he is being held pending a bond hearing. Jackson is being charged with two counts of Home Invasion and two counts of Armed Violence, including an felony charge of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.

Police are looking for two other possible suspects that were seen leaving the scene of the Home Invasion . Officers describe them as two black men and driving an older blue four-door Buick with Illinois Firefighter license plates .

The crime is still under investigation.

    he got caught running from the place,im sure he knew what he was doing, and he knew it was wrong. he hurt someone, throw away the key.

    why do people allway say the police got the wrong guy?then they bring up the guy has kids.if you cant get it in your head ,its wrong to break the laws we have.maybe you dont know him as much as you thought.could it be a case of drugs changing a person?alot of crimes like this is linked to drugies need to get money for drugs.what kind of good dad is someone that is involed in this kind of garbage?run with garbage and the stink wont wash off easly.

    The fact is that he was in the house and fighting with the 16 year old so he was involved. It does not matter if he was the mastermind or not, he is just as guilty as the other 2. He needs to go to jail, 4 kids or not. If he wasn't guilty why would he run into the cornfield and not stay and defend his actions?

    He has 4 kids at 24? He needs to have his [deleted] out working to support them not trying to rob others of what they have. And once again he runs but he isnt guilty.....seeing a pattern yet?

    i know this person and i dont believe he done this this boy is the most sweetest person you would want to meet i believe the other two boys youre looking for had a lot to do with it or i should say they done this robert wouldnt think of nothing like this his self i really hope the police get down to all who was involved with this case robert has 4 kids that he need to be there for all my prays go out to him
