ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Despite the cold, buses will run their usual routes on Monday.
The Rockford Mass Transit System will be running its regular weekday fixed route, Paratransit and Stateline Mass Transit District service despite anticipated extreme weather conditions. Buses will start their morning service at 5:15 a.m. as usual. Due to record-breaking cold temperatures, it is possible that some vehicles will experience mechanical difficulties. RMTD is recommending and encouraging all passengers to phone first to determine if their route is on time in order to eliminate wait time at bus stops and shelters.
Passengers can call (815)961-9000 or visit the RMTD web site at rmtd.org for updates throughout the day.
