ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- 200 mattresses are being donated by one local business whose showing their support for the town of Washington after tornadoes devastated the area. Gustafson’s furniture store in the Northtowne Mall says now one should ever sleep on the ground, so they paired up with the Salvation Army who gave them the trucks they will be bringing down to the victims of the recent storms.
"When you have families sleeping on the floor especially around the holidays and you have the ability to give something away to not get someone sleeping on the floor that means the world to us,” said Dave Gustafson, V.P. of Marketing for Gustafson’s Furniture.
The Salvation Army will be bringing down the mattresses once people are ready to move back into their homes. Until then they’ll be storing the beds in their warehouse.
