Local Church Holds Community Carnival

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Dozens of kids will be heading back to school Tuesday with backpacks full of supplies thanks to a local church.

The All Nations Worship Center in Rockford held a community carnival on Monday. Kids were able to munch on free hot dogs while playing a carnival games. Laurita Dixon, CEO, Heart of Love Development, says they wouldn't be able to put on the event with out the help of a local motorcycle group that donated school supplies and backpacks for the kids.

"We're all coming together... The biker clubs.... I'm so thankful that they are one of the best supporters all of them the Rough Riders all ten of the bikers we have come together as a community to break down the walls that the church's and bikers and everybody can come together for a purpose and that's to take care of our kids."

Dixon says this is the third year for the carnival and she expects around 1,000 to stop by this year.
