ROCKFORD/LOVES PARK (WIFR) – Hundreds of dollars passed by some unexpected grocery store shoppers. The Illinois lottery introduced its newest instant way to get some dough by holding a cash grab.
People stood in what looks like a phone booth for 20 seconds, while cash and prize vouchers blow past. They can grab as much as they want, but only for 20 seconds.
“I just pulled up here to get a haircut and saw the lottery truck. It’s a lot harder than it looks. I wound up with six actual dollars and then enough of the fake dollars to get a free lottery ticket,” said cash booth player James Mikos.
Shoppers at Schnucks in Loves Park and Valli Produce on East State in Rockford all got to try their luck.
