Flag Retirement Ceremony Held In Freeport

FREEPORT (WIFR) --As we pay tribute to our fallen service men and women we also are remembering what they did for our freedom.

In Freeport Monday afternoon at the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens military members held an annual veteran's remembrance service honoring those who died over the past year.
Retired flags that families donated to fly throughout the cemetery were given back to them by a color guard. The flags had once draped the caskets of men and women during their military funerals.

Every Memorial Day Chapel Hill flies more than 250 large veteran's flags, each one representing those who loved and served their country.
