A Boone County Sheriffs Deputy is recovering tonight after flipping her squad car while responding to an accident last night.

It happened around 5:00 Wednesday. Authorities say Deputy Sandra Rodgers was en-route to a crash with her lights and siren on, when a white van pulled out in front if her on Woodstock Road west of Russellville Road .

The deputy swerved onto the shoulder to avoid hitting the van, but her SUV flipped over. The driver of the van took off. Rodgers was taken to OSF Saint Anthony's Medical Center and treated for minor injuries. The Illinois State Police are investigating the incident.

How come people are not up in arms when a Police officer gets hurt when a citizen does not pull over for an emergency vehicle. When the police do something wrong the citizens want there badge. Next time pull over for a emergency vehicle with there lights and sirens going.
