The Sterling man suspected of killing eight is slapped with more charges today. Prosecuters in Missouri have filed first-degree murder charges against Nicholas Sheley. The charges are in connection to a married couple found brutally murdered last month in Festus-Missouri.
"We're not in a position to formally seek the death penalty at this time we are still awaiting scientific lab results. We need to view the evidence more closely but that issue is certainly on the table and quite frankly its in the center of the table and we will be making that decision at some point in the future," said Forrest Wegge, Jefferson county district attorney.
Yesterday we broke to you a judge in Galesburg told Sheley he could be facing the death penalty on charges related to two other deaths in Illinois. He's also the suspected killer of four-more in Rock Falls.
