DOWNTOWN ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- The second annual Screw City Beer Festival in downtown Rockford begins Saturday, and dozens of different brewers will be providing their unique concoctions to Stateline beer lovers.

Last year more than 1,400 came to try an assortment of beers at the Screw City Beer Festival. For its second year, organizers expect to sell all 2,000 tickets.

Dozens of breweries from around the country will be offering samples of 130 different types of beers. Organizers says Rockford has a thriving craft beer culture.

"You have all this different beer to sample that maybe you typically wouldn't reach for at the grocery store or at the gas station," said event organizer Aaron Sleger. "And it gives you a chance to try a lot of cool stuff, introduce you to a lot of new styles you typically wouldn't be interested in."

The Screw City Beer Festival is open to the public tomorrow from 1 to 6 P.M. The festival will take place in downtown Rockford at the intersection of State and Main Streets.
