Rev. Al Sharpton Visits Bainport

The Reverend Al Sharpton shouted to a full crowd about the plight of American jobs, focusing primarily on the 170 Sensata Technologies jobs being outsourced next month.

Though the Reverend was invited to speak on behalf of the Freeport workers, the main message he wanted to get across was that Mitt Romney can not win in November. Sharpton says there are people all over the country that are losing their jobs to outsourcing, and a Mitt Romney presidency would only make things worse.

"It is an example of what we don't need in this country. And how can he talk about compassion, and talk about outsourcing, and talk about American jobs, and the company he owned and ran is doing this to American workers?" said Rev. Al Sharpton.

Reverend Al Sharpton says this isn't the last time he will be visiting the Freeport campsite, and he's calling on Mitt Romney to visit the site, as well, to address the Sensata workers.

Several weeks ago, the Romney campaign responded to us with the following comment:

"Governor Romney has not worked at Bain Capital for over a decade, but for four years President Obama has been presiding over an economy that is creating too few jobs and sending more jobs overseas. Despite the President being invested in Sensata through his personal pension fund, and the government owning a major Sensata customer in GM, President Obama has not used his powers to help this situation in any way." -- Curt Cashour, Romney Campaign Spokesman
