A local gallery is keeping up a 15 year tradition by using Rockford landmarks as holiday decorations.
The Kortman Gallery is showcasing 15 year's worth of ornaments painted with familiar Rockford landmarks.
The ornament made for this year is of Frank Lloyd Wright's Laurent House in Rockford. Each of the ornaments in the gallery is accompanied by a unique piece of art created by a local artist.
"There are about 22 ornaments in the collection, and people have been collecting them over the years," said gallery owner Doc Slafkosky. "Some people continue to add to their collection. That's why we add each year a new ornament. And the Laurent House of course is a great addition to this collection."
Proceeds from the Laurent House ornaments will go toward the Laurent House Foundation and museum.
