Fall is officially in the air and a local community is celebrating the new season.
Boone County residents have been celebrating Autumn Pioneer Days for more than 31 years. The event is held annually at the Roger Gustafson Nature Center in Belvidere. Residents have the chance to travel back to the 1800's with old time games and foods cooked over a fire.
"I tell stories to the kids and their mouths just drop right open," said volunteer Judy Thompson. "I told one little boy that I really enjoy doing that."
