The National Weather Service Forecast Office in Chicago informed us today that the Rockford area will host two Storm Spotter Training Courses this Spring.
The first is to occur Thursday, March 14th at 7:00pm. This course will take place at Cherry Valley Fire Station #2 located at 4919 Blackhawk Rd.
The second takes place Wednesday afternoon, April 3rd at 1:00pm at the Rockford Public Schools Administration Building on 7th Street. That's the old Amcore building, for those unfamiliar.
Additionally, classes have been scheduled for Freeport on March 7th at Highland Community College at 6:30pm, and for DeKalb on March 18th at NIU (143 Faraday Hall).
The classes are free, open to the public, and last between 90 minutes and two hours!
