AUSTIN, Texas (AP) -- Illinois has earned a No. 7 seed in the East region of the NCAA tournament after a tough season in the Big Ten, and will play Colorado, a No. 10 seed, in the second round on Friday here.

The Illini finished 22-12 and took seventh place in the conference race, a league that produced five ranked teams in the latest Associated Press poll.

The Buffaloes went 21-11 overall, and finished with a 10-8 record in the Pac 12 Conference, good for fifth place.

The winner of this game on Sunday will likely face Miami, the ACC tournament champions, who snagged a No. 2 seed and a date with No. 15 Pacific.
