City Council Honors Ald. Robertson

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- It was a somber start of Monday night's meeting. The city council took a moment to remember 14th Ward Alderman and Former Fire Chief Bill Robertson.


A black cloth draped across his seat and his fire chief helmet and coat hung over his chair. Alderman Robertson lost his battle to cancer over the weekend. We're told he was sick for quite some time and had been noticeably absent from city council meetings. His family attended Monday night's meeting. Fellow aldermen expressed their gratitude to his wife and kids for his long and dedicated service to the city.
