Rockford Woman Wins Big

ROCKFORD (WIFR)--A Rockford woman is 380-thousand dollars richer tonight. Thanks to a last minute decision to buy a scratch off ticket.

Rosie blackshire went into the marathon gas station on south alpine to get a drink. But as she was walking out. Something told her to buy a scratch off ticket. She bought the one dollar ticket called "Cash For Life" and won the grand prize of $500 a week, for life. Blackshire knew she won something, but had no idea it was so much.

"Usually when I play I just win a dollar or two so I got ready to rip the ticket up but I said no, let me go ahead and scratch the rest off. That's when I realized what I scrateched off and it kind of hit me. Did I really just scratch this?," Rockford Resident Rosie Blackshire said.

Blackshire is a disabled army veteran. She took the one-time cash payout and says she plans to use that money to pay off bills, buy a new house, and save the rest for her daughter's college education.
