ROCK COUNTY (WIFR) -- Twenty-two DECA students from Craig High School and 57 DECA students from Parker High School recently competed in a DECA competition at Sun Prairie High School on January 12, 2013. The DECA competition consisted of 20 schools from around southern Wisconsin, with 680 students in attendance and over 135 business & marketing professionals assisting in the operation of the conference. The business & marketing professionals are from a variety of occupations relating to business & marketing.

DECA, an association of marketing students, is a student organization that focuses on business and marketing competencies. The competition evaluates students in business and marketing situations with the help of local business people. Students compete in written events, which relate to economics, finance, business & marketing concepts and business math. Students also test their oral presentation skills via different situations in the business world through role-play events.
