Send Rockford Budget Vote Expected Monday

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- At the last council meeting of the year Rockford aldermen are expected to sign off on the 2013 budget.

The city expects there will be a six hundred thousand dollar budget deficit in the 2013 budget year. Cuts have been made in every department, the deepest coming from the police budget. The department is expected to leave multiple positions vacant to save thousands of dollars. The public works department plans to shift around staff to cut costs. The budget has to be finalized before March of 2013.
