Where's the Snow?

MIDWEST (AP) -- Many cities in the Midwest have yet to see any decent snow this season -- and some are even setting records for the number of days without it.

In Iowa, Des Moines matched a record set in 1889 on Thursday when it hit its 277th consecutive day without measurable snowfall, and clear skies are expected Friday.

In Nebraska, Omaha broke its record Wednesday when it hit its 285th consecutive snowless day, and Lincoln has extended its new record to 297 days without measureable snow.

Chicago and Milwaukee are now just two days away from breaking their records.

National Weather Service experts say the records are in part due to last winter being so mild and the drought-parched land sucking up any precipitation that does fall.
