Rita Crundwell Pleads Guilty to Federal Charges

UPDATE: DIXON (WIFR) -- Rita Crundwell, has plead guilty to the federal charges against her. Her sentencing date has been set for February 14th, 2013.




DIXON (WIFR) -- Rita Crundwell, former comptroller for the City of Dixon, Ill., is scheduled to change her plea to guilty at 9:00 a.m. tomorrow, Wednesday Nov. 14, 2012, before Senior U.S. District Judge Philip G. Reinhard in Federal Court in Rockford.

Crundwell had previously pleaded not guilty to one count of federal wire fraud. Crundwell also faces a 60-count state indictment and has pleaded not guilty to those charges. Both cases accuse Crundwell of stealing millions of dollars from the city of Dixon.
