The Discovery Center Turns Into a Tropical Paradise

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- A local museum celebrates its largest fundraiser of the year by inviting the whole family to join in on the festivities.

The Discovery Center Museum turned into a tropical paradise Saturday evening for the second annual Family Ball. Guests of all ages enjoyed tropical themed activities, like hula lessons, and got to explore the center’s regular exhibits. Proceeds will support the museum's outreach and after school programs,

"All children need to see that learning is a treasure and it can be happy and exciting and it’s very important to have that here for our community, for our children to grow and to learn," says Audra Capriola, president of the Discovery Center Auxiliary

Around 200 people turned out for the island themed bash.
