MORRISON, Ill. (AP) -- For the second time, Nicholas Sheley's wife has testified at one of his murder trials.

The (Sterling) Daily Gazette reports Holly Sheley took the stand in Whiteside County on Tuesday. Her husband, Nicholas Sheley, is charged with killing 93-year-old Russell Reed of Sterling. Holly Sheley also testified last year when Sheley was found guilty in the bludgeoning death of 65-year-old Ronald Randall of Galesburg. Sheley is accused in six other killings.

Holly Sheley was one of five witnesses on Tuesday at Sheley's trial. Reed's son, Don Reed, testified. So did retired Illinois State Police crime scene investigator Tom Merchie. Merchie testified about analyzing blood stain patterns in Russell Reed's home. He told jurors he thought a bloody object, possibly a body, was carried and dragged through the home.
