“It Takes Two” -- Sounds from the Sanctuary Concert

First Lutheran Church, 225 South Third Street, offers the final concert in this season’s eclectic Sounds from the Sanctuary series when it presents It Takes Two: Anne Marie Olson, piano, and Jacques Saint-Cyr, flute, on Sunday, April 7, 3 pm, at the church.

Anne Marie Olson teaches piano at The Music Academy in Rockford, where she also accompanies the Suzuki string and flute program. A Performing Artist for the Mendelssohn Performing Arts Center in Rockford and pianist for the Jane Addams trio, Anne Marie has been a guest clinician and session presenter throughout the country. In 2008 she was the recipient of a Steinway of Chicago Teacher Grant.

Jacques Saint-Cyr also serves on the faculty at The Music Academy. He teaches at Rockford College, Rock Valley College, and is a Performing Artist at the Mendelssohn Performing Arts Center.

Jacques obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from the University of Quebec and a Master of Arts in Flute Performance from the University of Montreal. He has studied in Paris and performed extensively in Canada, France and the United States.

Together, Anne Marie and Jacques will perform from the extensive music library of Richard Nordloff which was donated to The Music Academy of Rockford. First Lutheran, corner of Third and Oak Streets, is located in the heart of Rockford’s historic Haight Village. A large parking lot sits adjacent to the church. Street parking and nearby public lots are also available. First Lutheran is handicap accessible.
