Speaker Series: FHN Pediatrician Adam Angelilli, MD
Mar 13, 2013 5:30 p.m.
YMCA lobby at 2998 W. Pearl City Road in Freeport
Give a Ton, Lose a Ton is a free program running from Feb. 1 through April 31 aimed at helping people in the community lose a collective 2,000 pounds while donating 2,000 pounds of non-perishable food items to local organizations. Participants must register at the YMCA front desk, where they will be given a pledge sheet and participant number. Participants are asked to seek food donations for every pound they lose, weigh in weekly at the YMCA and self-report their progress so the YMCA can track weight lost. Participants who are not already members of the YMCA will receive a free 2-week pass to work out at the YMCA upon signing up for the program.
You do not need to be signed up for the free Give a Ton, Lose a Ton program to attend the Wednesday speaker series events. There is no charge or registration required, but a canned food donation is encouraged.
The speaker series will continue on Wednesdays in the YMCA lobby with:
7 p.m. March 20 – YMCA Personal Trainer Bill Beal on the importance of changing your workout routine
5:30 p.m. April 3 – FHN Dietitian Jennifer Gassman RN, LDN, CDE on family nutrition
5:30 p.m. April 17 – YMCA Personal Trainer Cindy Tessendorf on sore joints and your workout
