ROCKFORD( WIFR) -- Nearly 20 percent of all job growth in the next three years will be in health services. 3 out of 5 jobs in this segment will be for positions like Rn's, home health aides and Medical Assistants.

The increase demand for services is a result of the growing baby boomer population. But one area in particular in our area is growing quicker than in many other parts of the country.

" I think Rockford is unique that there are some large processing firms here for the insurance companies, so the opportunities for people to enter health careers from the paperwork processing point of view. There are hundreds and hundreds of jobs here in the Rockford area, that's not true in all areas of the U.S."

Let's take a look at the salaries that come along with these jobs. The average paycheck for a registered nurse in the Rockford area is about 58-thousand dollars. Medical billing reps pocket about 34- thousand annually. Home health aides make an average of 26 thousand a year.
