| As the economy continues to slowdown Goodwill Industries of Northern Illinois and Wisconsin Stateline Area is excited to introduce five new employment opportunities through AmeriCorps VISTA. AmeriCorps VISTA is the national service program designed specifically to fight poverty. Goodwill is seeking five dedicated community members to serve as AmeriCorps VISTA’s. The VISTA’s will be given the opportunity to serve the community in various roles including: Business Research and Development for Seniors Financial Education and Outreach Development of an Income Tax Center Research and Development of Alternative Lending Tools Volunteer Development VISTA’s will be given a living allowance, health insurance, and an education award that can be used for future education or to pay down student loans. Sam Schmitz, President of Goodwill/Abilities Center stated, “These positions are a great opportunity for civic minded college graduates who want to give back to their community.
