OREGON (WIFR) -- A proposed re-development plan could change the face of the historical district in Downtown Oregon.

The city received a $75,000 grant from the state to look into a capital improvement plan. They're looking into the four block historical district. Which includes the Old Post Office, Theater, and the Nash Home, which houses the Ogle County Historical Society. Those buildings could be moved or come down, but that's up in the air. The city's still waiting on a plan from an outside developer.

The city should have that plan in hand next week. Public meetings will then be scheduled to discuss the proposal. The mayor is also putting together a historical preservation committee to provide insight on the development.
