Army Specialist Alexander Klus has recently arrived in Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Klus is a driver normally assigned to the 1st Battalion at Fort Riley in Junction City, Kentucky. He is the son of Ray and Kearn Klus of Byron.
Air National Guard Airman Dawn Decker
This Hometown Hero is a 1990 graduate of East High School in Rockford.

Air National Guard Airman Dawn Decker has graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force base in San Antonio, Texas.

During her training, Decker studied Air Force mission and military customs. She is the sister of Peggy Balentyne of Rockford

Technical Sergeant Joleen Dunavin

Technical Sergeant Joleen Dunavin has been in the Air Force for 12 years, and is currently fighting for our country in Iraq.

She is a Byron native and is the daughter of Karla Fuller of Byron and Michael Carter of Cherry Valley.
