A financial boost to Rockford’s roads and arts were both approved at tonight's City Council meeting.
Twenty-five thousand dollars was awarded to the Rockford Area Arts Council, bringing their funding to $50,000. That money will come from the city's Healthy Neighborhood Program. Earlier this year, the council was awarded just $25,000 from the city’s budget.
The Capital Improvement Plan for 2012-2016 was also approved. Those funds will convert one-way streets into two-way streets. A new interchange for the Whitman Street bridge and an overhaul of the Jefferson Street bridge will also come from those funds.
