Residents in Stephenson County are devising a plan to create an economic boost in their area.
A campaign called "Prospering Together" just completed a six month project aimed at improving economic growth and community vitality. The group made up of residents and county leaders will announce results of new development plan for the first time tomorrow. The organization has held more than 50 public sessions on the subject. Freeport mayor George Gaulrapp says it will take everyone's help to pull it off.
"What it does is set a different mindset. Within the communities that Freeport is a good place to live. We do have good quality of life. Same with [all of Stephenson County]. And we're striving and working together. And the whole jest, and the whole tagline, in you will, will be 'Working Together. Better’”, says Gaulrapp.
A meeting is scheduled for Monday morning announcing the completion of the plans behind the prospering together project at 10 a.m.
