Family Still Searching for Closure in 2010 Hit and Run

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Three years later, a local mother is still looking for those responsible for a hit and run accident that took her son’s life.
Every year, Michelle Rubert and her family visit the memorial near where her son was killed.

Matthew Clarke was riding his bike down Sandy Hollow Road in June 2010 when Police say a car hit him from behind and just kept going. Moments later, a passerby noticed Matthew in the road stopped and witnessed another car run him over. We’re told that car also sped off.
There haven’t been any arrests in the case, but Rubert says she’s not giving up on finding those responsible for her son’s death.

“Maybe, they might have the heart to come forward or anybody that does know the situation r seen anything because you know it’s just not fair to us to every day to have to see that. I can’t ever take that picture out of my head and that’s how I had to see my son,” said Michelle Rubert, Matthew’s mother.
