ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- 23 News is sponsoring the event "Dancing to Z-liMiNaTe MNT".
The benefit is being held to bring awareness to Maternal Neonatal Tetanus or MNT.
Typically occurring through an infection of the unhealed umbilical cord stump, tetanus is responsible for the death of one child approximately every nine minutes. Due to lack of proper immunization, many mothers and infants in underdeveloped countries suffer from tetanus. Mothers who have not been immunized are unable to pass the immunity onto their newborns.
The event will be held on November 30, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at ISC Sportscore II located at 8800 Riverside Blvd in Loves Park, Illinois. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
The benefit will include a raffle and silent auction along with T-shirt and tank top sales. Event T-shirts and tanks will be available before and during the event.
Tickets to the event are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. They can be purchased along with Zumba gear from your favorite Zumba Instructor.
