Bond set at $2 million in stabbing of Ill. infant

HARVARD, Ill. (AP) -- Bond has been set at $2 million for a northern Illinois woman charged with stabbing a 9-month-old boy in the head.

Claudia Mejia is charged with attempted murder and aggravated battery of a child.

Harvard police Chief Dan Kazy-Garey says the infant was in critical condition after being airlifted to a Rockford hospital.

Authorities say they were called to Mejia's home Friday morning by a report of an injured person. Once there, officers found the boy bleeding from the face.

Police say a weapon has been recovered.
