Noise Ordinance

First scheduled to kick in last month, new noise ordinances in Rockford soon take effect. The change was delayed because city officials wanted more time to better inform the public of the new rules. Drivers whose music can be heard 75 feet away can be fined 150 bucks on the first offense...and have their vehicle impounded. City attorneys say enforcement will come down to measurement by police officers.
