The history of one of Rockford's oldest neighborhoods is now showcased in a new book.
The book, called Downtown Historic Architecture Rockford Illinois, was launched by the River District Association. They hope it will serve as an educational tool for students and tourists as well as a keepsake for Rockford natives. Two grants were awarded to the River District Association which helped fund the book.
It is available for purchase in the River District Office, 127 N. Wyman Street. Other locations to purchase the book are Belles Firm of Architecture, 1001 E. Jefferson Street, Community Foundation of Northern Illinois, 946 N. Second Street, Gerlinde's Water Cafe, 115 N. Water Street, Midway Village & Museum Center, 6799 Guildford Road, and Tinker Swiss Cottage Museum, 411 Kent Street.
