Kishwaukee Concerns

The Kishwaukee River has already caused some damage in low lying areas ...

The National Weather Service issued warnings on Sunday that the Kish could crest two feet over record levels set back in 1994...that would have put the river over 14 feet. Today that notification changed, reporting that the river should crest at 10 to 12 feet before it's all said and done. In New Milford, emergency crews are nearing the 36 hour mark as 24 hour shifts supplying sand bags and shelter continue...

The Boone County Health Department reminds us that mosquitoes along the river are nuisance mosquitoes, they do not usually carry disease. The littke guys we have to worry about are those that breed around standing water...so make sure to avoid that as much as possible if you must go outside.
