Minneapolis Bridge Collapse

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Reports estimate a freeway bridge that collapsed in Minneapolis during the evening rush hour took some 50 vehicles down with it when it plunged into the Mississippi River and onto the land below.

A hospital official says at least one person has died and that 28 were injured.

Rescuers at the scene include divers who searched the water.

At least one burning truck and a school bus have been clinging to a slanted slab of the span. Parents of some of the children aboard the bus say all were able to escape.

Tons of concrete and twisted metal also crashed into the water when the bridge broke into several huge sections. The Interstate 35-West bridge, a major link between Minneapolis and St. Paul, was in the midst of being repaired.

In Washington, homeland security officials say there are no indications of any link to terrorism.

I wish they would worry about trying to save if possible, the people that are still in the water, rather than posting blame on why the bridge collapsed. I just think the most important thing is to find and recover bodies that are still missing, than go and find the problem or blame people for it.
