Police Say Sex Offender Followed Boys Home

A scary situation for some Rockford kids and their parents tonight. A convicted sex offender is arrested for following a group of 12-year-old boys home from a local park.

The boys were riding their bikes home from Belden Park, which is just west of Rockford Memorial Hospital. That's when they say they spotted 41-year-old Joseph Engle following them in a van. He tried to lure the boys into the vehicle, but they refused. Engle allegedly continued to follow them home, but one of the parents called police. Engle was arrested shortly after for communicating with children as a sex offender, driving drunk and on a revoked license.

this is sad, in what we would call a society of friends and neighbors, I live in MP. which has a lower crime rate than Rockford, itself, I would hope so. But, anymore. Its out of control. The police so they say...??? PROTECT AND SERVE!!! Is a HOAX. I went to jail 2 weeks ago to help a 18 month old child, because her mother was beating that baby'.... I Hid the child with her biological father in my house, and refused to let them enter my home without a warrant. They arrested me and invaded my home without a search warrant. Found him and the 18 month old child. took him into custody also.Charged him with "child Endangerment"!!! Well, so be it. I went to court sat in a cell awaiting for court. I never even seen the judge and he threw it out. I walked! So tell me please, Who did wrong? My charges were thrown out. but i still sat there in jail. for 2 days (weekend)till court on Monday. What a disgrace to me, friends and utmost! My Family, I'm 43 and live in a close nit family, it's all about FAMILY! As it should be.It makes ones self wonder about the status of our judicial system. Help me out on this one! QUESTION BEING: Was a wrong to protect that baby' or hand her over to her mother that drinks a 5th of Canadian Mist a day, plus beer. I just wanted to protect that child.
