ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill. (AP) -- An Illinois man who struck a car, killing a teenager after running a red light in 2006 has been convicted of first-degree murder.

Prosecutors say 28-year-old Ralph Lewis of Springfield led police on a chase after he attempted to buy thousands of dollars worth of goods with a fake driver's license in Gurnee. Lewis sped through Lincolnshire and Buffalo Grove before crashing into a car in Wheeling, killing 16-year-old Corey Diamond of Arlington Heights.

Diamond was a passenger in the car. The driver, 18-year-old Elliott Cellini, suffered traumatic brain injuries. Another passenger, 18-year-old Brandon Forshall, had minor injuries.

Diamond's parents said after the Friday verdict that it gives them relief.
