" Here all three quarters all at one time"
Kaitlyn Fondrick hands back some cash to a customer visiting the Belvidere high school store, the feature is one of hundreds of new things ..." making change" in her learning enviorment.
" It's really cool although we don't get a brand new high school, some things are new and nicer than last year." says Kaitlyn
Fondricks talking about the 7 million-plus dollars in renovations you can find through-out Belvidere's original high school. The improvements follow a referendum passed three years ago that also funded the creation of the city's other high school, Belvidere North.
"Some of us were excited to come back to school this year because well we were like okay they get a whole new school but were getting renovations, its really nice" says Kaitlynn
Some of the flashier additions to the original school en-ovations include LCD TVs in every classroom, a green house, animal science room and an exercise room...features that mirror most of the new facilities found inside Belvidere North. Three years into his post as principal at Belvidere, Chester Pulaski says it's important students at both schools keep competition where it belongs...
" it's always fun having multiple schools in a school district, there are good friends between the two buildings and the competition should remain on the athletic Field." says Pulaski
of course he isn't opposed to a strong sense of school spirit!
" North has the ugly red and blue carpet, we have the wonderful purple and gold" .. says Pulaski laughing..
