It's not easy being a mom these days...in addition to feeding, clothing and caring for our children, moms like Veronica Steward find themselves worrying if the toy or crib they just bought puts their family at risk.
"I try to, you know, stay focused on the news. You never know what's going to be recalled."
Chicago company Kolcraft is voluntarily recalling about 425,000 play yards after a 10-month old boy strangled on the changing table restraint strap. Target is one of several stateline stores that carry Kolcraft products. JC Penny at Cherryvale mall also carries Kolcraft, but not the play yards in question.
This comes after Simplicity Inc. recalled about 1 million cribs. Three babies died after they became caught in their cribs. Sadly, that's not all...fear of lead paint continues as 600,000 chinese made toys are being recalled, including Thomas and Friends wooden railway toys, toy gardening tools, puppet theaters and children's jewelry.
Like recently recalled cribs and toys, Kolcraft play yards are manufctured in China.
