ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- YWCA of Rockford welcomes two new members, Amanda Shank and Lori Sweeney to its board of directors.
Amanda Shank, Director, Human Resources, UTC Aero Space Systems - Since 2010, Amanda Shank has overseen the Human Resources function for the Rockford, Ill site’s 2,200 employees in multiple business units. She also manages human resources for the global Electric Systems business, with more than 1,100 employees. In these capacities, Amanda manages organizational design and effectiveness, strategic resource planning, performance management, talent and leadership development, succession planning and employee/labor relations.
Prior to joining UTC, Amanda was the Employee and Associate Human Resources Relations Manager for the Rockford facility of Rockford Products Corporation (2000-2001), and on-site account manager for Furst Staffing Services, in Rockford (1997-2000).
Amanda holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, an MBA from Rockford College and was a 2008 participant in the Emerging Leaders Program at the Darden Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Virginia, in Charlottesville.
Amanda currently serves as a board member of the Byron, Ill Chamber of Commerce. She, her husband and three young sons reside in Byron, Ill.
Lori Sweeney, Deputy Chief of Field Services, Rockford Police Department - Lori Sweeney has been in law enforcement with the Rockford Police Department for 19 years. Lori’s career began in Patrol, progressed to Field Training Officer and led to Detective, where she was the first female assigned to the Rockford Police Department Narcotics Unit.
In her current position as Deputy Chief of Field Services, Lori’s duties include management and oversight of all uniformed personnel inclusive of patrol, specialized units, K-9 Officers, School Resource Officers, Traffic Investigators, Community Services Officers and M3 Street Team Officers, as well as oversight of the Field Training Program, special events, fleet management and equipment.
Lori holds an associate’s degree in Police Science, a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources and a Master’s Degree in Organizational leadership.
