ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- The YMCA of Rock River Valley has expanded its board of directors with four new members. Leslie Anderson, Steve Casper, Michael Gann and Jim Zuba have joined the board. Each will serve a three-year term, assisting the board with the strategic oversight of the YMCA of Rock River Valley in achieving its mission of building a healthy spirit, mind and body for all.
Leslie Anderson began her career with State FarmR 14 years ago as a summer intern and is now the Sales Leader for the Rockford Territory. She is a graduate of Illinois State University with both a bachelor's and master's degrees in sociology. She is a licensed producer and Registered Representative with State Farm VP Management Corp (SFVPMC). Additionally, Anderson has earned the Chartered Life UnderwriterR (CLU) designation and the Chartered Financial ConsultantR (ChFC) designation.
Steve Casper is a life-long Rockford resident and member of the Rock River Valley YMCA. He has been employed at Woodward in various roles over a 23-year career. His current title is CI Manager CAN/HMU, a position he has held for two years. He has an MBA from Rockford University, a BS in Safety and Environmental Engineering from Illinois State University and he graduated from Boylan High School. Casper served as a YMCA Strong Kids Campaign group leader from 2002-2010.
Michael Gann is the CEO of Motor Parts and Equipment Corporation. He has previously served on the YMCA of Rock River Valley board, two years as the Board Chief Volunteer Officer. Additionally, Gann chaired the Y's Annual Campaign and the CEO search committee that brought Mike Brown to Rockford.
Gann earned his degree in accounting, and received an MBA as well, both from Northern Illinois University.
James T. Zuba practices law at Zuba & Associates, P.C. and concentrates on family law, personal injury, and federal criminal defense work. He worked as a federal prosecutor for 12 years at the United States Attorney's Office and he has been in private practice for 15 years. He graduated from Arizona State University with a bachelor's degree in accounting and he is a CPA. Zuba obtained his law degree from DePaul University in Chicago. He has been a lifelong member of the YMCA and spent many hours there as a youth. He is an avid rower and is a member of the YMCA rowing crew.
