Work Camps Looking for Volunteer Projects

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- A local non-profit has more than enough volunteers, but not enough projects to keep them busy. Rockford Work Camps is looking for more work sites. Each summer, they help coordinate volunteers who come to Rockford from around the country to help fix-up local churches and charities. So they’re asking groups that need some extra maintenance work done to apply for their assistance. The programs director says she knows there’s plenty of opportunities out there, they just need help spreading the word.

"People aren't getting the message. We have some people that we work with every year. We're always on the look out for new people to partner with,” said Director of Rockford Work Camps, Michelle Ryan.

If you know of a church or local non-profit that could use the help visit http://www.rockfordworkcamps.org/RWC/Rockford_Work_Camps.html. or contact Michelle Ryan, at 815-315-3957 or email
