ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- A woman was sprayed with Mace during an armed robbery on Rockford's west side.
It happen just after 9:30 p.m. Wednesday night in the 3700 block of North Main Street. Police say the suspect used Mace on the victim and then took a large black purse with studs on it.
The suspect is described as heavy set white man, wearing a green stripped shirt, blue hat and white bandanna.
He was last seen leaving the area on foot.
