UPDATE: Woman Killed in Lawn Mower Accident Identified

UPDATE: The Janesville woman killed in a lawn mower accident has been identified as 67-year-old Sue Flynn.

The Rock County Sheriff's Department says the incident happened around 3 p.m. yesterday afternoon near North Polzin and West Fenrick Roads. Deputies say Flynn was using a riding lawnmower near the driveway. They say it got too close to an incline and flipped on top of her. Investigators believe she was pinned underneath the mower for about 15 minutes before she was found. Flynn was pronounced dead at the hospital.


JANESVILLE TOWNSHIP (WIFR) -- A Janesville woman is dead after a freak accident while she was out mowing her lawn.

The Rock County Sheriff's department says this happened around 3pm Saturday near North Polzin Road and West Fenrick Road. Deputies say the 65 year old woman was using a riding lawnmower near a driveway when it got too close to an incline and flipped on top of her. Investigators believe she was pinned underneath the mower for about 15 minutes before anyone found her. A witness found the woman and used a vehicle to pull the lawnmower off and partially free her. At that point, she wasn't breathing and was later pronounced dead. Her identity is not being released.
