UPDATE: Members of the Winnebago Education Association have approved a two-year contract deal with the school district.
They voted Friday morning. It passed by a narrow margin.
The tentative two-year agreement includes a half percent raise for this year and next year, a $500 bonus for full-time employees.
The board will vote on the contract May 20.
WINNEBAGO (WIFR) -- Negotiations have greatly improved in the Winnebago School District. The Teacher’s Union and School District have come to a tentative contract agreement.
It’s a much different environment from a few weeks ago when teachers were holding informational pickets outside of board meetings. Negotiations with the Winnebago Education Association have been going on for more than a year, with salary and benefits holding up the process. The WEA will vote on the two-year contract tomorrow morning. The board votes on May 20th.
