ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- We're a little more than a week away from Election Day and on Saturday voters had the chance to hear from one of the candidates vying for the seat in the 16th Congressional District.
David Hale who's running on the republican ticket against incumbent Adam Kinzinger took part in the candidate forum at the Rockford Public Library.
He had the chance to tell voters why he's running before tackling some of the issues most important to us. Some of the questions voters had centered around clean energy and the national debt.
"I'm concerned about the debt and carrying that on to our children. I don't think it’s fair and I think we need to do something about that and it’s very important that we need to reel in the debt," Voter Jennifer Ray, said.
Kinzinger didn't attend the forum.
