Volunteers Come to Rockford to Make Homes Repairs

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- People from all over the country are helping to fix up some of Rockford's low-income neighborhoods.

Volunteers from Michigan are helping at a home on Yonge Street this week. They're doing basic fix-ups for the homeowners.

It's part of the Work Camp Program through Rockford Urban Ministries. Fourteen Christian Churches have been invited this summer to stay at churches in the Forest City to donate their time working on simple home repairs.

Several groups will work on projects through August 2nd..
