LOVES PARK (WIFR) -- It looks like the Grinch has made his way to a Loves Park neighborhood; several families say they're holiday
decorations have been smashed or stolen over the weekend.
Pat Lamont says she and her husband woke up Saturday morning to find several of their light up reindeer toppled over. Two houses down, a sign that read “JOY” reads “OY” after the vandals stole the “J”. At least 3 other families report that their light up reindeer and snowmen were unplugged, smashed, and thrown around their yards and driveways. This has been happening in the neighborhood behind Peak Fitness off Perryville Rd.
“The neighbor lady, she had a $100 Santa that they busted and there was somebody with lights that they threw at the window. They broke signs, it’s really sad, I know kids are bored but they don't need to ruin people's property,” says Pat Lamont.
Neighbors say they think a group of kids is behind the vandalism, they called the police but families aren’t sure there’s much to be done to catch the culprits. Neighbors say they’re going to get together and keep a better eye on things in the neighborhood overnight.
